Problem with dvr freezing then not working at all!
My comcast dvr has been freezing and I would have to unplug it and wait for it to reboot. Today it froze but rebooted itself but since then the dvr won't work. When I push "my DVR" it says, "There are problems with the program storage disk. Recording and playback are not available at this time." Are all my recorded programs lost? I've tried rebooting and it doesn't help. Any suggestions??

Inappropriate?Is this your fist converter? Did you try to have a signal sent to your box? If so, the converter may be defective. You may exchange your DVR for a new one by visiting the nearest local office in your area or contact your local office for a service call. Inappropriate?We are having incredible problems with picture freeze, shattered image, and the clock being off by many hours. Like others, we have rebooted, but then you have to wait up to 2 hours for the guide to refresh. We have had the DVR box replaced twice. We have been told that Comcast doesn't support HDMI (what? really?)
It worked for the first few months, then nothing but trouble. We have an electrical engineer living in this house. Actually, he used to work for Motorola. This is insane? Without the DVR, we may as well use Uverse. Now, Comcast has threatened us that they'll charge the next time they come out. The didn't solve the problem, they have no clue, but they are going to charge.
the techs are about 18 years old, they have no idea. In fact, twice they tried to pawn off used (dusty!) boxes on us.

Inappropriate?We are having a very similar problem. The Motorola HD DVR DCT3416 I box works fine for weeks, sometimes months and the starts acting up. We have to unplug to get it working again. I lost all my scheduled recordings and recordings, everything go wiped out. (this doesn't happen everytime).
Just this weekend we have unplugged the box 7-8 times so we could watch. When you turn it on it's either stuck on one channel that works OR it stuck on a channel with a frozen picture. YOu can't change the channel, turn it off, or use any other functions from either the remote or directly on the box.
Comcast can't get here for a week!!! Ridiculous.
We are EXTREMELY frustrated to say the least. This service is not cheap and Comcast really doesn't give a hoot about it's customers. -
Inappropriate?I have the same problem. I have had several boxes and several technicians and still have the same problem. I get a big black box on the screen when the DVR is supposed to go into a preset recording. This freezes the DVR. I can turn it off and back on and my show begins to record. This only happens occasionally. A technician can not recreate the problem.
