How do I track my shoe mileage?
On the old insidenikerunning.nike.com, I could track the mileage on my shoes. What happened to that?

Inappropriate?I agree. I just wrote a suggestion to Nike that since they're in the business of selling shoes, it's to their advantage to allow people to keep track of their shoe mileage. Seems like it would be easy enough for people to create a list of shoes they have on the website, then pick which shoes they're wearing as they set up their iPod just before their run. Then the website would tell you when it was time to go out and drop some more money in Nike's bank account!
I can't imagine we'll be without this feature for long... -
Inappropriate? It did exist in the old insidenikerunning.nike.com site which is no longer available (as of today, I think).

Inappropriate?I'm wondering what happened to the data that was there. I kept all my shoe mileage inside the training log and never wrote it down anywhere else.
I’m blurg.

Inappropriate?I mentioned this via email to a nike rep like a year ago. Its so common sense, its a wonder we didn't see it 1st thing. They track what shoe you own, they track your mileage, and they ask you to comment on your run. It would seem a simple thing to add a drop down box with :what shoe did you use, and from there add up miles. They could even send you coupons when your show gets to a certain amount of miles.
I’m stunned

Inappropriate? Here's an idea: When they look like a dog toy - buy some new ones. Your total miles are recorded anyway, or am I missing the point, or do people actually have more than 1 pair?
I have the Zoom Jasari+ iD running shoe, which I gorgeously designed myself. Great for running in the woods, haven't gone over on an ankle at all, when I used to EVERY time in other trainers! Look: http://www.freewebs.com/goatlips/goat...
I’m kidding

Inappropriate?I have three sets of shoes. One for hiking, one for normal use and one for wet rotten days. The hiking shoe requires a different calibration than the others. I also just hate to wear nice shoes on wet days so I wear some older ones. Obviously the total mileage doesn't work.
Could it be that Nike just doesn't want us to know how quickly shoes wear out?
-
Inappropriate? If you know how long your previous pair of shoes lasted and tracked the mileage, you could just mark down a calendar month to get a new pair. If you ran 1000 miles per year then maybe you need 3 pairs per year for example.
There are many calendars online including some running specific, like http://www.running-journal.com
I’m happy

Inappropriate?...Why would you replace a shoe just according to a date or mileage? Personally, I'd get a new pair when the old pair were damaged, judging by eye and how they felt on my foot.
I’m serious.

Inappropriate?I agree Denise - it makes sense that Nike would want to sell more shoes, so tracking the "age" of our shoes (by miles) was great.
I’m sad
