Inappropriate?Really frustrating. Just getting to the site from iTunes is very problematic, and has never actually worked. I have to click around before a page will even load. I have a pretty new Mac and the latest browser, and this site is the slowest I've seen! I'm not kidding. Flash is not appropriate, please move to a site that supports web standards, so it can work with my computer, actually remember my password, behave more quickly and reliably, and frustrate me a little bit less!

Inappropriate?I agree. I would gladly give up the graph animations (which aren't in themselves useful) for some really nice static, css/javascript graph action. There are so many different things that could be done with Nike+ if it was standards-compliant xhtml/css and not clunky Flash. Even on my capable machines, the site grinds to a halt much more than is acceptable.
I’m in 2009, post-flash.

Inappropriate?I totally agree, but I think this is choice of nike marketing department. They wanted a lot of photos, animation, dynamic. So we've got slow flash site.

Inappropriate?Flash is SOO web 1.0. Its slow and it is not interoperable.

Inappropriate?Im with you all. Lose the Flash. Heck, the iPhone can't even use the Flash! (so much for seamless integration with Apple products)
-
Inappropriate? Not only is flash slow to render, but it slows me down as I operate the site. I can't use keyboard shortcuts and I can't open new tabs with various bits of info. Terrible for power users. It makes me hate the site.

Inappropriate?I agree... we're going toward a Flash-less world wide web, with all the new light technologies like CSS3, JavaScript, XHTML, HTML 5, HTML Canvas, AJAX and so on...
It's so sad that Nike+ has to rely on Flash, a heavy, overbloated engine for a site that would be light, require less bandwidth and less computer resources..
Please, no more Flash, and let's get into internet future with HTML, CSS and Javascript!

Inappropriate?Trying to access the Nike website from a netbook, which I use now for the majority of the time is tediously slow. Even a 'lite' version to the site would be a welcome option.

Inappropriate?Completely agree. Nike's developers should ditch flash altogether - use JQuery for the fun bits, but make the rest plain old html - nice and nippy.
Also .. while you are at it - you need to work on your web strategy - nike.com, nikestore.com, nikeplus.com, nikerunning.com !!! what's all that about ... loads of doors into loads of flaky sites. As a new nike + user I'm going to ditch Nike + sites and opt for using runometer.com instead.
Sort it out Nike.
I’m blowing a rspberry at Nike

Inappropriate?I AGREE 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Inappropriate?Agreed! This is wrong technology. Flash is to get attention for first time users - not for day to day usage. Please cooperate with Apple to get proper design for your site!
-
Inappropriate?Yeah - I'm in a remote area of Australia and our internet out here still runs on two tin cans and a piece of string. Using this site takes forever. A 'lite' version would really help.

Inappropriate? Not to mention I use my iPhone with Nike+ and can't even see the flash.
I’m sad panda

Inappropriate?I guess the question is: why did Nike set up this forum when it appears that they're completely ignoring all suggestions??
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?I think Raymond Brigleb has the best question. Why have this site and ignore the suggestions? There's a lot of good ideas on here and the Nike+ site could be SO much better...
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Seems like Nike has their plan and they don't care a fig what we consumers think. I'm also on Garmin's running site, uploading data from my ForeRunner 305 and it is simply amazing. It has GPS and HRM support, which people have been asking for here since day 1. The site is lightning fast, there's no Flash on the site like people have been asking for here since day 1. You can MANAGE YOUR DATA AS YOU PLEASE like people have been asking for here since day 1. And, guess what, they answer and often respond favourably to online feedback, like people have been asking for here since day 1.
Admittedly the site Garmin site falls behind in "attitude". It's obviously run by people who know hardware and not runners. But it has been getting better lately. I'm using both now, though I spend time on the Garmin site while rarely logging in here any more. Too bad Nike, but your corporate arrogance once again shows you up for what you are.
I’m nonplussed
-
Inappropriate?Luber, I've really seriously considered trying the whole Garmin thing. Is the data as good as I've heard? This Nike+ site is just killing my mojo!

Inappropriate?I paid $40 CAN for two Nike pods. The 305 cost $180, but it's a far more functional solution. I still run with my Nike pods but when they die I won't replace them. Log on to Garmin Connect and you can see their stuff and check out the site to see if it's what you want. Later!

Inappropriate?I like the cool Flash/Flex graphs to display run data, but really dislike EVERYTHING being in Flash. It's twitchy and annoying, and completely inaccessible on my iPhone. As previous posters have mentioned, there are probably better solutions with JQuery or AJAX.
Right now the home page ALWAYS has a "spinner" on the lower part of the page. Don't know what's supposed to be there, it never loads and I just go elsewhere. And the "Forums" menu item has never worked. Do they still exist?
I’m not impressed.
-
Inappropriate?I understand that the site is nice using Flash, but it's slow and can't be seen from my ipod touch!
And it never worked fine! The graphs can be done with so many javascript libraries. I don't see the point to use Flash everywhere!
I’m frustrated
