Event Stamp for Whiskerino Throwdown

For the last 107 days, hundreds of men have been part of an incredible "competition" known as Whiskerino. This little thing on the web has participants band together in growing a beard from November 1st to February 28th (120 days of uninhibited growin' and showin'). The curator and head "beardo" of Whiskerino, Michael Eades, recently stated that while he is currently swamped with other organizational duties for the event, he's very cool with getting some official Gowalla love for the Throwdown—which will have over 170 confirmed participants traveling to Nashville, TN on the weekend of Feb. 19th for 3 days of awesome.

This show of testosterone run-amok will hit about 6 venues throughout the weekend, but the main throwdown is definitely happening at Mercy Lounge (event details: Whiskerino Throwdown) Saturday night—Feb. 20th.

This sort of event is really right up Gowalla's alley and there are several of the participants that are already using Gowalla, so aside from any personal promotion before and during the actual get together, there will be people checking in with Gowalla all over Nashville that weekend (several even from across the pond).

The reason #44092 was kept is that regardless of a duplicate's existence, the maintenance of the Lincoln Center spot would have included the moving of it to the correct location.
