Provide details in boxee settings of services which are configured via the Boxee web-site

We have a bunch of services which users can only configure on the web-site (and for good reason), such as Facebook / Twitter / Tumblr / flickr etc.

It would be really nice if we could have visability of our configured services within boxee. Via settings, or anywhere. This info would tell us that the service is configured, what username its configured with, and what (if any) options have been selected (such as 'Send what i'm watching / send what i'm listening to' etc)

Configure scrobble to Last.fm in Boxee settings

Boxee has the great last.fm application. I use this to pick a playlist, and listen. However, once i've picked my playlist, i'll exit boxee and goto the main screen. The dissadvantage of this is that it will no longer scobble to my last.fm profile.

We should enhance Boxee to allow users to scrobble any music they play (not just from the last.fm application). This would be configurable from the Settings->Music menu. And would simply be a rado button for 'Scrobble to last.fm' and then a username / password field. this is something we could even do via the web-site :)

Please note, that they have not yet fully integrated with TV.com for your TV Shows- this will be rolled out over time. Just be pacient :) It will get better.

Boxee is designed for HTPC or devices which hook up to a big screen TV- as hintsss states.

spk2629- you tell me of another device which plugs into your HDTV, pumps out 1080p with optical sound. Allows you to watch web-based content, and content indexed from computers around your house. If you can do that, then tell me if it's under £120, reliable and hooks into your social networking sites.

Watched flags should be stored server side

I would like to see all watched flags stored server side. this way, even if i goto a nother room / friends house / re-install my boxee build, Items I have watched will be remembered.

This is one of the more annoying things which is left out of Boxee.

The BBC iPlayer application needs to have support for the BBC HD channel.

I've seen people asking for it before, but i've never seen a topic on getsatisfaction. So here it is

The reason we are not doing this is due to copyright. TheTVDB.com is on sketchy ground for the graphic content they offer up.

This is why its such great news that we have deals with IMDB.com for movie data / graphics and recently announced at CES that TV.com will join the line up.

That is the only rokc solid legal way of doing it.

Congrats Boxee for doing it the right way.

Each person has their own Boxee account, which they can log into by using the log off button- you then authorize that persons facebook with their individual boxee account This way, all that users content is seperate.

This is how boxee is intended to be used.

There is a problem with one of the builds, where iPlayer is not detected as a UK compatible application. As such, when you set your region to UK, iPlayer is hidden.

To fix this, you must uncheck the option in settings->apperance->view options->hide feeds and applications that cannot be played in your location

Applications should appear under Movies / TV Shows where relevent

Applications should contain content type in their XML. e.g.
TVShows

We should then have a section under movies / tv shows for applications relating to this content.

e.g.

TV Shows->Apps->BBC iPlayer / ITV Player / Five Demand
Movies->Apps->Netflix / LOVEFiLM

This would make it easier for non-us people to find the content they want to watch

You need a subscription to get sky player. You get this from Sky for a charge. It works very much like iPlayer and the others.

If you pay sky for the subscription, any broadband service can receive sky player :)
